Book review: Catching the Big Fish. Meditation, Consciousness and Creativity

It's a small shiny green book with hard cardboard covers.

Again, it's one of those celebrity books, bearing the name of a famous individual--- David Lynch in this case. The book sale is guaranteed. (Probably not necessary two thumbs up.) However the secret art of a successful film-maker is tempting.

We know that with talent only won't get you too far. Some other spices are needed. And here you go: Lynch is talking about meditation along with his personal notes on film business. More precisely, it's called Transcendental Meditation, a program he joined decades ago in LA.

Lynch's Cult Movie: Eraserhead

(Check out the similarity of the head of a guru and Eraserhead.... both oversize....)

However, besides his little poetic notes and his recommendation on meditation for artists, there is hardly anything more. Meaning it's not telling you enough information to introduce new ideas or it's not poetic enough to say it's poetry and it certainly doesn't share any methods of this Transcendental Meditation. But I guess after reading this, everyone would want to check out the program. At least I did. But I ended up with images of clouds, rays of light and big words printed on them saying: "Enlightenment".

I guess this book selling itself in Taiwan proves one thing: David Lynch really made it. He is the star.
